Chirripó National Park
Main attractive:
- The Crestones: They are rock formations originated by folding of the terrestrial crust; They are a National Patriotic Symbol. Here the panoramic view of the Talamanca mountain range and that of the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea stand out.
- Cerro Chirripó: It is the highest point in Costa Rica and the second in Central America. The summit is 3,820 meters above sea level.
- Cerro Ventisqueros: From here, you can see beautiful sunsets, a scenic beauty of the Protected Area and much of Talamanca. There are usually strong winds.
- Sabana de los Leones: It is the only natural high altitude savannah in the country. This ecosystem is made up mostly of grasses. Around the savannahs there are different types of vegetation and viewpoints to the Valle del General.
- Valle de las Morrenas: Covered by Paramo vegetation, there are lakes of glacial origin that drain their waters into the Chirripó Caribe River.
- Valley of the Lakes: known as Lago San Juan, it is of glacial origin, which are the result of the intense climatic and geological dynamics of the Pleistocene. They drain their waters to the Pacific Chirripó River.

Schedule
Administrative office (registration to enter the Park):
Every day between 08:00 and 12:00 and from 13:00 to 16:00
Entrance to the Park:
Every day between 03:00 and 10:00.
It is required to comply with the previous registration in the administrative office of the Park for the entrance in the established schedule.
